Katrina Phillips, Assistant Professor at Alabama State University, teaches courses in clarinet and woodwinds, music history and appreciation. She performed numerous times at festivals of the International Clarinet Association and Alabama Music Educators Conferences. She served as Secretary-Treasurer for the Higher Education Division of AMEA and is now President-Elect. She is originally from the Kansas City, Missouri. She earned a Bachelor’s degrees in performance and music education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her doctorate and master’s degrees were in clarinet performance, musicology and literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Katrina is married to clarinetist Timothy Phillips, has two children, Violet and Evan and two labradoodles.
